Dieses Werk ist in 2 Fassungen erhalten, als Partita III für Violine solo und in einer um eine Oktave tiefer transponierten, auf 2 Systemen in Violin- und Bassschlüssel notierten Gestalt ohne Angabe des Instruments (Suite No. 4,BWV 1006) .Die nur wenig abgeänderte Violinfassung wurde dabei mit zusätzlichen Bass- und Akkordtönen versehen. Wegen der tiefen Lage kommt das Cembalo als Instrument wohl kaum in Frage, eher wohl ein Lauteninstrument. Da die Gitarre der Laute klanglich sehr nahesteht, sind wir wohl berechtigt, Lautenkompositionen auf der Gitarre wiederzugeben. In1712 he joined the famous court orchestra of Dresden, where he stayedtill his death in 1755.? The acquaintance and friendship of the two musical giants of the time,Bach and Telemann, left a firm imprint on him as a composer andviolinist. On the other hand Pisendel's astonishing virtuosity influencedBach to a great extent, Bach's solo violin sonatas & partitas would nothave been the same without Pisendel.?
